Field Engineering Services
Subsystems provided all equipment, materials, services, and personnel for site preparation, delivery, installation, and checkout of the ASDE-X system. We accomplished all work within the framework of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 and FAA Order 1050.1, Policies and Procedures for Considering Environmental Impacts. After we installed, tuned-up and conducted preliminary checks we provided technical support for an operational inspection by the FAA and demonstrated system performance using available ground traffic. Specific tasks included:
- Preparing the site adaptation description document
- Optimizing the site
- Conducting a site survey
- Following site survey requirements
- Preparing the site
- Delivering the ASDE-X units
- Installing the system
- Testing the equipment
- Installing spare and repair parts
- Complying with all FAA security requirements
- Providing FAA acceptance data packages
