Senior-Level Systems Engineer, Proposal Effort

Government consulting, no clearance required. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration. Contract Award mid March 2010. Support the implementation of Service Oriented Architecture processes to disparate information systems.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Knowlege, skills and experience in generic information system programatic support to implement SOA to critical but dissparate air traffic management information systems.
The System Engineer (SE) resolves engineering development problems by the application of (a) the physical and engineering sciences and mathematics, (b) system development and integration, and (c) the principal techniques and practices of engineering. Work pertains primarily to assessing and demonstrating the effectiveness of new concepts and ideas for equipment in achieving particular mission goals; formulating overall design concepts and criteria, which establish the baseline for advancement of state-of-the-art engineering developments; and, review, monitor, implement, deploy and assess overall progress in the development effort. The SE shall develop, manage, and support trade studies and prototype development plans and procedures for associated products.
Required Experience:
15 years IT experience with basic technical certifications. Experience with software programming language C++ and JAVA. Experience with enterprise OS: UNIX, Linux and AIX. Demonstrated experience with Middleware technologies and systems such as Java Messaging Service (JMS), Active MQ and IBM Message Queuing (MQ). Experience with enterprise application platforms: .NET and Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE). Experience with SOA products [i.e., IBM Websphere, Oracle Application Server, Weblogic and Fusion Middleware and Fuse (Enterprise Service Bus, Services Framework, Message Broker and Mediation Router), Registry/Repository, ESM, Policy Server]. Experience with SOA platforms, standards, and products such as: Universal Description Discover Integration (UDDI), and eBXML, Data Representation Technology: XML and XML schema design. Experience and knowledge of one or more of the following FAA domains or systems: Aeronautical Information Management (AIM), Weather, Traffic Flow Management, Surveillance, En Route, and Terminal.
